Our second stop was the Kronborg Castle, which is also known as Elsinore, in the town of Helsingør, which is one-hour train ride from Copenhagen. I thought I cannot be that impressed after visiting Frederiksborg Castle, however castle’s own unique style stole my heart in about a second. This one too is one of the most important castles of Renaissance era. However,it is mainly famous, since the Shakespeare’s famous play Hamlet was taking place in this castle. The tour we had in the underground was one of the best experiences that I ever had. It really gave me the feeling that I was lost, stuck in the underground and waiting to be rescued. Your castle tour will last not more than one hour and a half hour.
